DevOps Engineer

Spinwell is recruiting for a DevOps Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the private sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DEVOPS ENGINEER

  • Develop high quality and maintainable code with automation first approach.
  • Provide in-depth insight into DevOps issues and strong technical experience.
  • Maintain an open-minded attitude and ability to rapidly adapt and learn in line with DevOps culture.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings with a variety of stakeholders, show and tell, and drive outcomes.
  • Manage technology change, issues, and escalations (external and internal), taking responsibility by owning them until they are mitigated or resolved.
  • Lead by example, acting as a servant-leader, demonstrating the right behaviours, dealing with conflict, and helping establish a team culture that allows for constructive criticism.

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE DEVOPS ENGINEER

  • 5+ years of experience with a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS) to develop and maintain an AWS-based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
  • Expertise in provisioning infrastructure using Terraform and VMs with tools such as Vagrant.
  • Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, JAVA) and automation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Jenkins and pipeline using Groovy script.
  • Experience with Docker containers and Amazon Linux 2023 AMI.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Alert Manager, Prometheus, and Node exporter).
  • Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues.
  • Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management.
  • Knowledge of Windows System Update Service and DFS Replication.
  • Experience with Windows Group Policy Objects and access/permissions control via GPO.
  • Experience in automating and codifying the installation of software packages.
  • Nexus security scanning and antivirus experience with ClamAV and MS defender.
  • Ability to manage and build relationships with teams, relevant stakeholders, and third-party sub-contractors utilizing effective and appropriate governance mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and methodologies, and hands-on delivery experience.
  • Drive outcomes and business value, coordinate activities across teams to establish pace of delivery.
