Role: Senior Health Safety and Wellbeing Officer REF 98411
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Hybrid/Manchester - 2 to 3 days in the office each week (occasional national travel and overnight stays will be required)
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £230 per day
Security Clearance: BPSS

Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Health Safety and Wellbeing Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR HEALTH SAFETY AND WELLBEING OFFICER

  • Provide advice and assistance on health, safety and wellbeing to managers and employees.
  • Provide additional advice and support relating to Display Screen Equipment (DSE), ensuring effective workplace adjustments are in place for those who require them and advising managers where local adjustments may need to be considered.
  • Undertake collaborative working, ensuring effective relationships are developed with a wide variety of stakeholders, including HR Assistant Business Partners, property staff and trade union safety representatives.
  • Assist with the production and analysis of health, safety and wellbeing management data, including accident/incident reporting, risk assessments, Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments, lone worker device usage, and stress management data.
  • Working with experts in various roles, develop client’s risk assessment library, ensuring assessments are in place for all required roles, are up to date, are comprehensive, and are available to those undertaking the roles.
  • Develop and disseminate internal policy and guidance, and work with the internal communications and HR teams to issue regular communication on all matters of health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring that all staff clearly understand their duties, responsibilities and the assistance available to them.
  • Assist with the monitoring, measurement and improvement of health and safety compliance across client. Ensuring the review and improvement of internal procedures in line with HSG65.
  • Assist in the work to reduce days lost due to stress, anxiety and depression.
  • Where agreed, undertake personal stress risk assessments and work with the individual’s manager and the assistant HR Business Partner to develop an appropriate action plan to address the issues raised.
  • Work in partnership with the Property Team, including participation in regular building inspections and the review of fire risk assessments, evacuation procedures and first aid arrangements.
